Job Duties:

***RFI Response*** When assisting with installation of the snow plows and spreaders, site preparation workers guide the driver of the vehicle into the snowplow connection and then use hand tools (hammer/screwdriver) to insert safety pins to secure the snow plow and spreader to the vehicle. Site preparation workers do not drive trucks or equipment, but instead clear snow from sidewalks with snow shovels and push spreader ***Original F.a.2*** Laborers will perform cleaning of commercial and residential properties including trash/debris pickup; leaf drop cleanup and dormant tree/shrub winter pruning incidental to site preparation in advance of the snow removal season. Laborers will perform cleaning of private properties resulting from inclement weather to include snow/ice removal from walkways/sidewalks using snow shovels, snow blowers, or walk behind salt spreaders in addition to snow melt/ice melt application; and trash/debris pickup from grounds. Workers may also place plastic snow markers at worksites to aid company’s separate snowplow drivers with identifying correct areas to clear. Workers may also installl plow and salt spreader mounting on trucks. Workers will clean equipment after use, to include power washing and cleaning of vehicle interiors in addition to power washing tools/equipment to remove salt. Winter laborers to organize and clean up debris in shop, ensure proper storage of tools/equipment and clean office areas. Entry level; requires supervision.

Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Shift schedules may vary and workers are on call during inclement weather. Post-hire drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers upon suspicion of use. Post-hire background check required of foreign and domestic workers. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
