Job Duties:

Support market staff to meet the demand of customers. Return items to proper storage areas and assist in refilling shelves. Lift boxes, pails, and baskets of fruit and product. Recommend, select, and help to locate merchandise. Prepare merchandise for purchase and prepare for sale. Label, arrange, and display merchandise to promote sales. Restock Inventory in market, produce, winery, and bakery including supplies. Maintain a clean and safe work place, floors and work spaces. Pick up trash, empty garbage containers and replace trash bags, breakdown empty boxes. Locate shopping carts and return to proper storage areas. Workers may recommend merchandise by identifying available items that match the customer's stated request, assist in selecting from available inventory, and help locate merchandise within the store or warehouse, when asked. Recommendations are limited to directing customers to products based on availability, location, and the customer's expressed preferences. This duty is incidental to the primary stocking and order-filling functions of the position and represents a minimal portion of overall job duties. Workers prepare merchandise for sale by receiving, unpacking, sorting, labeling, tagging, stocking, bagging, organizing, and displaying products in designated inventory or sales areas. Workers may also inspect merchandise for damage, replenish stock, and ensure products are properly arranged. These duties do not include sales, cashiering, or customer service functions.

Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 40 lbs. Walk, stand, bend, work with hands and fingers for long periods of time. Perform repetitive work. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Must be able to work in a fast passed environment. Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, health and safety and security procedures. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire at random, upon suspicion of use, and post-accident. Post-hire employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions.
