Job Duties:
Responsible for the daily care, handling, and exercise of horses, including feeding, watering, grooming, bathing, and maintaining clean stalls and equipment. Prepares horses for training by tacking up, applying boots and wraps, and cooling them down afterward. Rides horses during morning workouts to build conditioning, assess performance, and support training plans. Adapt riding technique to individual horses and adhere to industry rules and weight requirements. Assists veterinarians and farriers by safely restraining horses during exams and hoof care. Monitors horse health, follows safety protocols, and communicates performance updates to trainers and owners.

Special Requirements:
Split shift, 5:00am-10:00am; 2:30pm-4:30pm (Tuesday-Sunday), optional hours available on Monday, but not required. Hours may vary based on the weather and racing schedule. Workers must be able to lift and carry weights of 150 lbs. with assistance. Workers should have the capability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials needed to complete their assigned tasks. The employer will rely on workers' self-representations and observations to assess whether they meet this requirement. Must be able to follow all safety and industry guidelines with respect to training and health practices for horses and riders. 6 months experience required as Horse Groom, Horse Rider, or Stable Attendant. On-the-job training will not be provided. The employer will provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned, in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(k). Random drug testing may be required post-hire for all workers, both U.S./domestic and H-2B workers, at employer's expense.
