- Job Duties:
- The Cook prepares and cooks traditional Mexican food in a full-service restaurant according to established recipes and food safety standards. Duties include preparing meats, rice, beans, sauces, and salsas using raw ingredients by washing, cutting, chopping, seasoning, measuring, mixing, boiling, frying, grilling, and cooking food. The Cook may also prepare seasonal or specialty menu items and uses pre-made ingredients, such as tortillas, as part of meal assembly. Responsibilities include maintaining ingredient quality, monitoring proper cooking and storage temperatures, using standard kitchen tools and equipment safely, and keeping work areas clean and sanitary in compliance with health and safety regulations.
