Job Duties:
***RFI Response*** The Construction Laborer Helper will support specialized construction crews in the assembly and installation of light-gauge prefabricated metal wall systems, metal decking, and temporary shoring under direct supervision. The worker will assist with framing, prefab wall installation, and general construction tasks by loading, unloading, staging, sorting, and manually carrying light-gauge steel studs, metal tracks, corrugated metal decking, prefabricated wall panels, and related construction materials throughout the worksite. The worker will hold and stabilize materials while skilled workers position and secure them, assist with layout by using tape measures and laser levels to verify measurements and alignment, prepare work areas, organize hardware and materials, remove debris, collect steel scrap, and perform general site cleanup. The worker will also assist with moving ladders, tools, and equipment as directed. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided by the employer at no cost. Tools and equipment used include tape measures, laser levels, ladders, brooms, shovels, manual hand tools, hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses, gloves, and fall protection lanyards. The prefabricated structural components consist of light-gauge steel wall panels, cold-formed steel studs, metal framing tracks, corrugated steel floor and roof decking, temporary shoring components, wood wall bracing, and related metal framing components used in commercial building construction. These components are manufactured primarily from galvanized cold-formed steel, with temporary wood bracing used to stabilize wall systems during installation. The Construction Laborer Helper assists in positioning, aligning, and holding these prefabricated components while skilled workers permanently secure them using bolts, screws, anchors, or other fastening methods appropriate for the project ***Original Duties*** Perform site layout and measurement to assist with construction of commercial buildings. Install temporary shoring, bracing, and safety rails to ensure compliance with jobsite safety standards. Load and unload materials and tools from trucks; transport them to appropriate work areas using manual or powered equipment. Operate power tools and hand tools including saws, drills, hammers, and impact wrenches to assist with framing, prefab wall installation, and general construction tasks. Position, align, and secure prefabricated structural components using bolts, nails, or adhesives. Set up and operate portable generators to supply temporary power for tools and equipment. Operate various jobsite equipment including forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts, in accordance with OSHA and site safety protocols. Assist skilled tradespeople as needed with framing, demolition, and finish work. Maintain a clean and organized jobsite through regular housekeeping duties and debris removal. Perform inventory checks and material handling to support job progress and prevent delays. Serve as a flagger to direct traffic and maintain safety during deliveries or crane operations.
