Job Duties:

***RFI response*** Workers may operate the following equipment when performing the snow plowing duties identified in Item F.a.2: walk-behind snow blowers, walk-behind snow plows or pushers, ride-on sidewalk snow removal machines, and light-duty pickup trucks equipped with front-mounted snow plows to remove snow from commercial parking lots, drive aisles, sidewalks, entrances, and pedestrian walkways. Workers may also operate pickup truck-mounted salt spreaders to apply de-icing materials to paved surfaces as part of winter grounds maintenance. These are tools and equipment commonly used by Landscape Laborers in performing snow removal and winter grounds maintenance. The operation of this equipment does not require specialized equipment operator skills and is incidental to the workers' primary duties of landscape and grounds maintenance. Accordingly, these duties do not change the primary nature of the Landscape Laborer position. ***Original*** Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand tools, power tools, or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation; spreading dirt, soil, mulch, and other landscaping materials; sod laying; laying grass; mowing; edging; trimming; pruning; watering; fertilizing; digging; raking; leaf removal; debris removal; irrigation maintenance; sprinkler installation; installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units; loading and unloading materials; snow removal; sidewalk clearing; snow plowing; de-icing applications; storm cleanup; and general grounds maintenance. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including cold temperatures, snow, and ice, and may require extended, weekend, holiday, or overnight hours during winter weather events.
