Job Duties:

***RFI response*** The more specific tasks that a worker will perform include loading and unloading crawfish and other seafood into trucks at the warehouse by hand or using hand held sack claws and making local pickups from farms, docks, and suppliers and local deliveries to customers in our company vehicles. With regards to delivering crawfish/seafood, the employees will load the company delivery truck with the seafood ordered by the customer and then drive or ride along with a driver to the customer’s place of business hauling the crawfish/seafood. The gross vehicle weight of the vehicles range between 16,000 and 25,995 pounds. In connection with the "obtaining product/seafood from local docks/farms," the employee would travel to local docks/farms to obtain the crawfish/seafood product, load the crawfish/seafood product into the truck by hand and travel back to the warehouse to unload the crawfish/product. Some docks/farms deliver crawfish to the warehouse so obtaining also include receiving the product (unloading the truck) upon delivery. In connection with the job duties described as "prepare crawfish/product/seafood for shipment," the employee is required to ice down the crawfish/seafood/or product to preserve the item during shipment and/or prior to delivery. In connection with the job duties described as "move crawfish/seafood”—the employee is physically hand loading sacks of crawfish/seafood into trucks and off of trucks. In connection with the job duties described as "package crawfish/seafood for sale/shipment” – employees will be required to dump our crawfish/seafood and repackage them into specific sacks and at specific weights as requested by customers. In connection with the job duties described as "cleanup worksite and equipment” – This includes cleaning of grading equipment, tables, pallets, shop floor, & vehicles, physically by hand using a rag, water hose, or other handheld tools to ensure that we have a clean workplace. Cleaning isn’t one of the main duties of an employee in this position but it is important for efficient operation and the longevity of the equipment so that the facility and equipment stay ready and clean to used each day. Because the facility deals with seafood (a food item) it is essential that the facility maintains a certain level of cleanliness. ***Original*** Obtain/deliver crawfish/seafood; Assist with loading and unloading of crawfish/seafood in trucks while delivering to customers and obtaining product/seafood from local docks/farms; prepare crawfish/product/seafood for shipment; ice seafood; move crawfish/seafood; package crawfish/seafood for sale/shipment; and cleanup worksite and equipment.
