Job Duties:

Person seeking employment in this position must be available for the entire requested by the employer. Successful applicants will be subject to a trial period of up to five (5) days during which their performance will be evaluated. If the performance during this trial period is not acceptable to the employer, the workers employment will be terminated who do not produce sufficient number of piece rate unit to earn the Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR) for all hours during a pay period will instead be paid on an hourly basis at the Adverse Effect Wage Rate fir the pay period. Workers paid on an hourly basis who fail to perform their duties will be given up to three (3) warning and will not be coached/ instructed regarding how to work more efficiently. Upon issuance of the third (3) warning the employee may be terminated. Workers who possess at least on season of previous experience performing the following: Orchard clean-up, care of young non-producing fruit trees, training of trees, ability to safely handle a 12-fott orchard ladder, workers may be asked to assist with planting thinning pruning harvesting. Care must be taken at all times do as not in damage or bruise fruit. Workers must obey all safety rules and basic instructions and be able to recognize, understand and comply with safety, pesticide warning/re entry and other essential postings. Workers will be training, Thinning, Pruning, Stripping, and Harvesting the Apples. While performing all the following duties, workers will be expected to conform to the specific instructions provided each days by the supervisory staff, according to established company procedures accounting for difference in the treatment of different varieties and instructions based on the market, fruit conditions and operational demands. The worker will wear/ attach a Picking bag to the front of their upper body and pick the low hanging fruit while standing on the ground and the fruit on the higher branches while standing on a ladder. The Worker will pic according to grade, color and size by grasping fruit with the hands and removing it from the tree in a motion so as not to be harmed adjacent buds on the tree branches or puncture the fruit. The Worker will carry the picking bag of up to 60 lbs. and will carefully empty the fruit through the bottom of the bag into wooden bins, 47x17x14.5 which hold approximately 25 bushels of fruit. Workers will manually cultivate and harvest squash. All squash must be handled with care to avoid bruising. Workers will dig, cut, pick, bunch, clean and grade crops by hand. Workers will cut spoiled and in-mature vegetables. Workers must take care to not scare or bruise vegetables during harvesting and/or packing process. Workers who perform sloppy work may be suspended without pay for a workday or up to three days in the sole judgment of their supervisor, depending on the degree of infractions, the workers prior record and other relevant factors. Discharge of the workers may result from any subsequent offence. Workers may not deliberately restrict productions or damage plants. Workers must follow supervisors instructions. Insubordination is cause for dismissal. Employees who violate work rules will be disciplined according to the following schedule: First offense: oral warning and correction Second offense: written warning and unpaid leave for the remanding of the workday. Third offense: immediate discharge with written statement. Employee will be asked to sigh written fact statement.
