Job Duties:

Pull weeds, harvesting, counting, checking, and packing vegetables, which include crook neck squash and cucumbers. Clean up fields at the end of each work day to maintain field sanitation. Repeatedly bending to manually pick vegetables which are placed into buckets and then walked over to bin in which they are dumped to be washed. Make boxes, clean, grade, load and unload harvested products, and place onto loading trailers. Hand tools such as shovels, shears, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, buckets, and knives will be used. Workers will pick vegetables accordingly to specifications given by supervisor. fast paced during busy season. Employer is a drug free workplace. Drug testing is conducted post-hire at the employer’s expense and is not part of the interview process. Negative results are required before starting work. Three months of farm work experience is required. Workers will be required to lift and carry 50lbs . Work is in extremely hot, cold, and/or wet conditions. Perform repetitive walking, stooping, bending, and reaching for prolonged periods of time. Workers are expected to posses the skills to work in the production of crops listed in this job order. The introductory period for all crop activities is 2 days starting with the first day of employment to acclimate the worker to the physical demands of farm and to familiarize workers with the job specifications and to demonstrate proper harvest methods and other crop specific issues. Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor. Workers must take care to handle tools, equipment and produce in a manner to avoid injury or damage. The employer will comply with all federal, state, and local safety requirements. Operational specifications can change during the season due to crop or market conditions. Workers will be expected to conform to the specific instructions given for each day’s work. Instructions and general supervision will be provided by the employer or a designated employee. Workers will have close supervision to insure adherence to instructions. Work will be closely monitored and reviewed for quality. Workers may be assigned a variety of duties in any given day and different task on different days.
