Job Duties:

Drivers must be physically and mentally healthy. Each worker is expected to drive vehicles efficiently and safely through all types of roadways. Workers must be able to operate tractors, trailers, semi trailers, and have adequate knowledge to make minor adjustments or repairs to these vehicles. Must have a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or equivalent acceptable in the United States. Drivers must have 12 months of commercial driving experience; pass a mandated drug and alcohol test, as well as a background check including driving record. Drivers must maintain a suitable driving record, and be ensured by the employers insurance company. Drivers will also be required to have a medical examination done. Physical Demands: This job will entail extensive sitting, push, pulling, repetitive movement and working outside in inclement weather. Must be able to work in groves and fields where crops will be collected and hauled to designated work-sites. The employer may assign the worker to different tasks on any day or multiple task during the same day as to the sole judgment of the employer. Workers may be required to perform work in the fields necessary to fulfill the requirements of hauling and driving duties. Work Environment: Essential Functions and Basic Duties: Drivers will haul fertilizer from federalizer plants and harvested crops from fields/groves to designated processing and packing facilities. All Drivers will work only for the employer listed in the ETA 790. The driving and hauling will consist driving the semi-tractor to the work-sites contained in this application, attaching the tractor trailer and driving the tractor trailer to the processing or packing facilities identified in the petition. In addition, drivers may be required to place empty trailers in the fields/groves and/or relocate trailers throughout the designated work-sites contained in this petition. The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. The employer will charge the worker for reasonable costs related to the workers refusal or negligent failure to return the tools or due to such workers willful damage or destruction of the tools. Daily job assignments will be made by, and at the sole discretion of, the Company Farm Managers as the progression of the growing season dictates. Workers must perform the assigned work as described in ETA 790, and work at the assigned Company locations. Workers may not switch work at Company locations without specific authorization of the Farm manager. At the direction of the Farm Manager and/or Supervisor workers may be re-assigned to different farm locations within the company at various times of the workday and/or on different days. Employer will provide tools, equipment, harvest materials, protective clothing, including gloves, where required to perform all job specifications at no cost to the worker. The reasonable repair or replacement cost of tools or equipment assigned to the worker may be deducted from the workers paycheck for willful damage or loss of such tool or equipment. Non-workers will not be permitted at the work sites or on company property without permission from the employer. Importantly, no non-working minor children under the age of 18 shall be present at the work site, or left unattended in vehicles at the work-site during the day. Workers arriving at the work-site with non-working minor children or other non-workers will be sent home.
