Job Duties:
Monitor equipment gauges and controls to determine if equipment is running properly. Diagnose, repair and/or replace defective or malfunctioning equipment parts. Collect information about soil and/or field attributes (e.g., yield data, field boundaries, using field records and basic geographic systems (GIS). Install, calibrate, and maintain sensors, mechanical controls, GPS-vehicle guidance systems. Use computers or computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data, set up functions, and process information. Collect and summarize data from soil fertility maps as well as harvest yield data to evaluate and improve crop yield while minimizing environmental impacts of farming practices. Document and maintain precision agriculture information on both tabular and graphic form to assist in evaluation of farming practices employed in the 2023 season. Make physical adjustments to field topography to maintain adequate drainage and maintain optimal migratory waterfowl habitats (conservation). Operate mechanical devices, farm equipment or farm vehicles, including, but not limited to pickup trucks, tractors, back hoes, chemical spray equipment. Use logic and reason to help evaluate problems, establish priorities, evaluate alternative solutions, consider the costs and benefits of particular actions, and choose the most appropriate alternative.Maintain, repair and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles. Align and maintain the repair records and maintenance schedules of all farm equipment and vehicles. Geotag and Geomap newly acquired fields to the farm specific systems. Restore areas affected by intense precipitation. Mapping, field reporting and quantitative data compilation. Assist in resource and farm input planning. Accounting and financial planning. Analysis of field mapping and other administrative tasks under SOC code 19-4012 and 49-3041. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to perform the job. Persons seeking employment in this position must be available for the entire period requested by the employer. Employer reserves the right to discharge an obviously unqualified worker, malingerer or recalcitrant worker who is physically able but is unwilling to perform the work necessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product, or for any other lawful reason. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker's Sabbath or federal holidays. Workers will have a paid lunch break. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. Workers will work Monday-Thursday from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM, Friday from 7:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Workers will have 8.5 hours Monday-Thursday, 6 hours Friday. TERMINATION. All workers will be subject to a 2 day introductory period, during which the employer will evaluate workers' performance of required tasks. Employer reserves the right to terminate a worker at the conclusion of the 2 day introductory period if the worker's performance fails to satisfy the employer's reasonable expectations, or is otherwise unacceptable. Employer may terminate a worker for lawful job-related reasons, including but not limited to situations in which the worker: (1) Is repeatedly absent or tardy; (2) malingers or otherwise refuses, without cause, to perform the work as directed; (3) commits act(s) of misconduct or repeatedly violates the Work Rules; and/or (4) fails, after completing the 2 day introductory period, to perform work in a competent and skillful manner, consistent with the employer's reasonable expectations. Non-U.S. workers may be displaced as a result of one or more U.S. workers becoming available for the job during the employer's recruitment period.

Special Requirements:
Six months verifiable experience as agricultural worker or technician. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Work in cold climatic conditions. Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating items. Possess a valid Mississippi Drivers license within two weeks of employment date. High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar. Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry, and their applications. Basic knowledge of the application of agricultural science and technology to production equipment and practices. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and general maintenance.
