- Job Duties:
- The supervisor will have the ability to do the jobs that every employee does, as well as ensuring the farm runs smoothly. Supervisory duties may include the following: supervise, demonstrate, instruct and communicate with workers with regards to required job duties.
The supervisor is to oversee and supervise farm operations, crop cultivation, fruit production and other agricultural enterprises. The supervisor is responsible for supervising workers; and be a leader. Supervisor may also perform the following general farm and irrigation duties as well as supervising and assisting operators/irrigators with same: General Farm Work: maintain, drive, attach, adjust and operate farm implements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilize and harvest crops; make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farm machinery, vehicles and trucks; load planter; report malfunctions; maintain correct planting, harvesting and cultivating adjustments required by constantly changing fields and conditions; may mix and/or spray/apply chemicals/fertilizer (according to appropriate restrictive use laws, when/if applicable); remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farm grounds; remove rocks from field; paint/repair/maintain farm structures; replace/repair fencing; perform general cleanup of farm areas; Supervisors may be required to assist harvesters in the completion of the harvest.

Coordinate, assign, and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting
Supervise a wide range of farm operations including cultivation, spraying, harvesting, planting
Ensure deadlines are met for activities such as planting and harvesting
Confers with managers to coordinate activities with other farm units
Monitoring employees, hours, performance
Organize transportation of all crops
Oversees the work of the farming units and suggestion of improvements and changes
Inspect farms buildings and equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is conducted and repairs are made when necessary
Installation, maintenance, and regular monitoring of irrigation system
Alternative Work;
General farm maintenance and other duties as required in the farming operation maintenance. Includes, but not limited to, preparing barns, draining fields, preparing land for planting, maintenance of tools & equipment, Change oil in trucks and and machines, Take apart and reassemble parts, Cleaning equipment, Use of power tools: saw, drills, chain saws, etc and other work as directly related to the crop activities for which the worker is hired. Also includes fixing, clearing, and painting of fences / barns. Maintenance work: Siding, Window, framing, trim, etc.
And other maintenance, Greasing equipment, Cleaning: housing, bathroom, and general pick up around farm, Other miscellaneous everyday jobs. Such work will be offered when climate or crop conditions preclude working in the primary activities listed above and only after the first week guarantee is met.
General Conditions:
A normal work week is Monday through Friday from 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m and Saturday 07:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If work is available beyond normal workdays, employer may offer, but not require, worker an opportunity to work additional hours. Workers will report to work at designated time and place as directed by assigned employer each day. However, workers may be requested to ten (10) hours per day depending on the conditions in the fields and the maturity of the crops. Also, workers may be requested to work on federal holidays and their Sabbath but will not be required to do so. Workers may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available.
