A John Deere Farm Equipment Mechanic specializing in hydraulic and electronic systems is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of John Deere agricultural machinery, with a particular focus on hydraulic and electronic components. This role requires a deep understanding of John Deere equipment, hydraulic systems, and electronic diagnostics. Key Responsibilities: 1. Diagnostic and Repair: Conduct thorough diagnostics and repair on John Deere farm equipment, with a specific focus on hydraulic and electronic components, including tractors, combines, and specialized machinery. 2. Hydraulic Systems: Inspect, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, including pumps, hoses, cylinders, and valves. Ensure hydraulic systems operate efficiently and safely. 3. Electronic Systems: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic components such as sensors, control modules, and wiring harnesses. Stay up-to-date with the latest John Deere electronic technologies. 4. Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and longevity of equipment. This includes changing fluids, filters, belts, and lubricating moving parts. 5. Parts and Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of replacement parts, order necessary parts and equipment, and manage spare parts efficiently. 6. Documentation: Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed. Document issues, solutions, and parts used in the repair process. 7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working with heavy equipment and potentially hazardous materials. Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. 8. Training and Development: Prefer they stay updated on the latest John Deere technologies and attend relevant training and certification programs to enhance skills and knowledge. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; formal technical education or certification in diesel mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics is preferred. • Preferred experience in servicing and repairing John Deere farm equipment, with a focus on hydraulic and electronic systems. • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, electronic diagnostics, and related tools and equipment. • Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently. • Good communication skills for interactions with customers and team members. • Attention to detail and commitment to quality work. • A valid driver's license and the ability to operate equipment for testing and diagnostics. • Willingness to work flexible hours during busy seasons, including weekends.
