Job Duties:
Crops/Commodities: Cattle Job Duties: Perform farm duties related to tending livestock and transporting hay and feed around the farm, as needed (does not participate in any milk production and no day to day feeding/breeding duties): Duties may include the operation of various farm equipment. Equipment being operated may include, but is not limited to, tractors, vertical mixer wagon, pay-loader, skid-steer, auger, bale processor, and fork lift. Workers may perform maintenance on water tanks, feedlot equipment, and corrals. Job also requires processing incoming cattle, including unloading livestock in alley, vaccinating, weighing, branding and tagging, examining, and herding; sorting and shipping cattle; conducting the repair and maintenance of farm equipment and fencing, including maintenance of electric fence components; regularly cleaning and servicing equipment; mixing feed for auto feeders, lifting bags of mineral; identifying and treating sick cattle; assist with vet visits, assist with medication administration; and cleaning pens; snow removal; services and maintains snow removal equipment; de-icing of water banks; de-icing of feed banks; removal of shawling of frozen feed. Daily tasks may vary from site to site. Must be willing to work in harsh temperatures for extended time. Must wear assigned personal protective equipment when required. Must report for work daily wearing work clothing and boots or other durable foot wear. Workers wearing clothing inappropriate for work will not be permitted to start work. Outdoor work required when conditions are wet, or during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Temperatures in fields during working hours may vary. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker’s ability to perform the job. Work is done outdoors for long periods of time, in harsh weather conditions and requires prolonged periods of standing and/or walking, repetitive movements, and frequent bending and/or stooping. Workers must be able to handle, lift, and carry heavy or bulky objects (product, containers) in accordance with the specified lifting requirements. Employer-paid post-hire drug testing is required upon reasonable suspicion of use. Supervisor(s) will provide instructions and directions to workers. Workers must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively to supervisors. Unusual, complex or non-routine activities will be supervised. Workers expected to perform basic duties in a proficient manner without close supervision. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker’s Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. Work Rules & Other Policies: Worker acknowledges that this Contract Disclosure contains all material terms and conditions of employment, but agrees that employer may, at its discretion, promulgate additional written policies governing behavior in the workplace and on employer’s property. Copies of all such policies will be provided to worker in writing (in a language understood by the worker) during orientation and/or onboarding and shall be considered binding and enforceable for purposes of job retention under Section 6 of this document. Employer attests that all policies will be consistent with local, State, and Federal laws and regulations and will not waive (or purport to waive) any rights, benefits, or protections to which worker is entitled under the H-2A program.

This job requires a minimum of 3 months of agricultural field work experience on a dairy farm, handling both manual and mechanized tasks, associated with production of cattle. Applicants must be able to furnish verbal or written statement establishing relevant prior work experience. Must be able to lift/carry 60 lbs. Employer-paid post-hire drug testing required upon suspicion of use.
