- Kelly Inc. dba A-1 Nursery & Tree Farm is recruiting 12 (Twelve) FT, temp nursery laborers to work from 04/01/2025 through 10/25/2025. On the job training is avail. Emply'r will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equip. req'd to perform the job. Employees will work in nursery facilities planting, cultivating, harvesting, and transplanting trees, shrubs, or plants.
Nursery laborers will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, and water plants, shrubs, and trees using hand tools and gardening tools
2.Harvest plants, and transplant or pot and label them.
3.Dig, cut and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs
4.Tie and bunch flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees, wrap their roots and pack them into boxes to fill orders.
5.Move containerized shrubs, plants and trees using wheelbarrows or tractors
6.Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss and other materials to condition soil, using wheelbarrows or carts and shovels
7.Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems
8.Provide info and advice to the public regarding the selection, purch. and care of products.
Work hours are from 8am to 5pm Mon to Fri with a 1-hr un-paid lunch break. Work week begins on Sun ending on Sat; pycks are issued weekly on Fri for the prev. wk. worked. Reg pay is $19.52/hr; OT pay is $29.28/hr. Emply'r will make all deductions from the worker's pyck req'd by law which inc. fed. inc. tax, social sec., Medicare, & ST unemp tax.
Inbound/Outbound Transp. & Subsistence: If worker completes 50% of work contract period, emply'r will reim. worker for reasonable in-bound transportation (via airflight) and subsistence from place of recruitment to place of work. Upon completion of work contract or where worker is dismissed earlier, emply'r will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation (via airflight) and subsistence back home or to place worker originally departed to work, except where worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another emply'r or where emply'r has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. Amount of transportation payt or reim. will be equal to most economical and reasonable common carrier for distances involved. Daily subsistence provided at rate of at least $15.88/day during travel to a max of $59.00/day w/receipts. H2A Workers will be reim. in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the gov't (except passport fees) by ck separate from pyrl.
Board/Lodging: Housing will be provided at no cost to non-commuting workers only. Employee will be responsible for maintaining the residence in a clean and orderly manner. Reasonable repair cost for damage other than normal wear and tear will be deducted from the earnings of the worker(s) found to be responsible to the housing or furnishings. Housing will include a full kitchen with cook utilities and furnished with cooking tools/utensils.
Daily Trans. is provided via Co. vehicles that workers can take from place of employ't to place of housing. Parking is avail. at emply'r housing provided to allow for daily commute to/from worksite and pers. errands. The workers will have the vehicle(s) at the housing location(s) with the sch for workers to report to work at 8am ea day. Two (2) pick-up trks-seating capacity of five (5)/ea and One (1) suburban-seating capacity of nine (9). We are an agricultural emply'r, providing our own vehicles to the employees to fulfill the emply'r-provided transp. requirements - all provided transp. will be in accordance with local, ST, & FED laws and regulations as req'd under 29 US.C. 1841, 29 CFR500.104 or 500.105, and 29 CFR 500.120 through 500.128.
