Workers will be expected to be able to operate agricultural equipment with or without direction, as well as service machinery, trucks and trailers and makes in-field repairs as needed.

Workers will transport, deliver and unload sod at the customers' locations, within area of intended employment, using a mobile forklift.
Operation of commercial-sized motor vehicles (semi truck with 48' flatbed trailer) is integral to this job. Employer requires that a successful applicant possess a valid CDL or equivalent, as a condition of employment. Workers must maintain a valid CDL, or equivalent, and a clean driving record throughout employment and comply with applicable requirements of the United States Department of Transportation regulations. A clean driving record has no disqualifying factors under applicable law or under employer's motor vehicle insurance policy. Examples of disqualifying factors include, but are not limited to, conviction for driving under the influence, driving while impaired or the occurrence of a serious at-fault accident.
As required by law, employer complies with all applicable laws and regulations related to motor carrier safety, including those promulgated by the United States Department of Transportation. Using the services of a third party, employer uniformly conducts a motor vehicle records check as part of the hiring process. The motor vehicle records check assesses whether the applicant has a clean driving record and whether he is legally entitled to operate commercial motor vehicles in the United States.
Employer has a drug policy that requires pre-employment testing, as well as post-employment employer-paid random, upon suspicion and post-accident testing. These policies are carried out uniformly for all employees, both foreign and domestic. Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines require pre-employment drug testing for all truck drivers. Because all employees hired pursuant to this application must have an appropriate driver's license to permit driving of trucks, drug testing is required to meet this standard. Tests are conducted in accordance with DOT standards after the initial employment offer has been extended and accepted. Drug testing is not required as part of the interview process, but any worker who fails a mandatory drug test and is unable to obtain the required licensing as a result will be terminated. The employer will also test at random, upon reasonable suspicion of use, and after a worker has an accident at work.
Employer requires all newly hired employees to take and pass an employer-paid background check. All background checks are conducted uniformly after an initial job offer has been extended and accepted by the new hire. Applicants found to have felony convictions (including, but not limited to assault, child molestation, sex or drug-related convictions) will be immediately terminated out of concern for general public safety, and paid for all hours worked between the first date of employment and the date of termination, if any. In the case of a foreign worker who is terminated for cause resulting from findings of the background check, the employer will arrange least-cost transportation to the worker's place of recruitment, at the worker's expense.
