Job Duties:
Starting on January 20 we will begin preparing for the season with machinery servicing and maintenance, grain cleaning and hauling. In March we begin to prepare the fields for planting, the farming season continues through the planting, harvesting and until the middle of November. Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse such as: Operating tractors, swather and balers to rake, cut and bale hay; maintain/clean farm machinery. Worker will assist with loading and unloading crops or containers of materials. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools. Load and unload hay bales. Assist with general farm maintenance and maintenance of equipment and tools. Duties will be assigned daily. Worker may assist with livestock during overlapping heavy workload during heavy calving season and sale periods. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds. cleaning and hauling of the manure Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Worker will maintain miles of canal, cleaning debris etc... General farm work will include making minor mechanical adjustments/repairs on farm machinery; repair/replace fencing and farm structures; perform general cleanup of farm acreage; drive, load/unload trucks. Worker may Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment, The job entails working around farm machinery and a variety of farm animals as well as exposure to predators and poisonous snakes. The worker must be willing and able to occasionally work independently or in small groups of workers. Most duties are performed out of doors, and entail exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, rain and other environmental conditions. Worker must be able to crouch, bend, lift and carry up to 100 pounds. Worker must have Drivers License or have the ability to obtain a Drivers' License. Anticipate 50 hours/week with additional long/odd hours needed during haying season. Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A cell phone or two way radio will be provided for emergency and ranch communications at no cost to the worker (excluding long distance charges).
