Job Duties:
All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Section A.3 & A.4. Workers will perform a variety of manual tasks related to the planting, cultivating, and harvesting of apples, peaches, berries, pumpkins, and squash. Duties include tilling soil, picking stones, transplanting, weeding, hand thinning, tree training and pruning. Workers will clean, sort, pack, and load harvested products in the field and level and load products to be transported. Workers will use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, hand saws, and knives. As the need arises, workers will perform other farm-related duties such as: mend fences; repair and paint farm buildings; operate tractors and farm equipment for the purpose of tilling soil, mowing grass, cutting brush, planting young trees and plants, moving bin fruit and spraying; apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to crops; participate in irrigation activities; and repair and maintain farm vehicles. Workers may be asked to operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis. Workers that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver’s license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers who do drive will still perform the same field work and other duties as non-driving workers; driving is not a primary duty. Workers will be compensated at the correct rate of pay for all hours worked, including when they are performing the employer’s obligation of driving. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather conditions with temperatures from below 0 to 90+ degrees (F) with possible wet mornings. The work assigned will be physically demanding, long periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, as well as climbing ladders for long periods of time will be required. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds with assistance. Without assistance workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers may be required to work 8 hours shifts between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Saturday. Workers will be given at least a 30-minute lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the workers and management. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and return to work after their 30 minutes are up. The daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. The employer will notify workers of any change to the schedule. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. The employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform all duties assigned. After hiring, the employer may conduct random drug testing at the employer’s expense. Workers should report for work with their own suitable clothing and must be able to operate agricultural equipment safely. Workers are required to have proficient English language comprehension in order to maintain Federal food safety regulations, pesticide application safety, and safe operation of farm equipment. Four (4) workers starting on April 10th, 2026 and ending on December 19th, 2026. Two (2) workers starting on August 1st, 2026 and ending on December 19th, 2026.
