Job Duties:
Crops: Carrots Prepping the equipment, machinery, and carrot storage facilities by cleaning and sanitizing; cleaning and inspecting the wooden storage crates prior to filling them; repairing wooden storage crates; unloading carrots from trailers with a bulk receiving conveyor; using mechanical equipment to place the carrots into wooden storage crates; using a forklift to move the crates to and from the refrigerated storage facility; cleaning up debris and loose carrots from around the harvest equipment; assisting with field harvest; assisting with washing line duties such as cleaning; assisting with packaging line duties such as cleaning, inspecting, or operating the bagging machinery; during times of peak need hours requested may increase to up to 12 hours per day; work at night may be requested. Employer reserves the right to move workers between worksites if needed. Workers assigned as Crew Leaders will Report directly to the foreman/supervisor and have no authority to hire, fire, or discipline field workers. Direct and monitor the work of seasonal field workers. Tasks include demonstrating proper techniques, ensuring presence of drinking water and hydration stations, monitoring adherence to required break and heat safety rules, monitor time sheets and productivity, informing supervisor of performance issues in the field, as well as crop and weather conditions, maintaining inventory, ordering materials, and relaying daily assignments and tasks to seasonal field workers. Workers assigned as supervisors will direct and coordinate workers engaged in planting, watering, applying chemicals, and harvesting activities. They will work closely with management, HR, agronomy, equipment maintenance, the packing house, and other departments to ensure cultivation activities are aligned and efficient. The supervisor will monitor compliance with safety protocols, issue warnings or disciplinary actions when necessary, and ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Responsibilities also include scheduling crews, equipment, and transportation, as well as adjusting work schedules in response to changing conditions such as frost or weather. In addition, the supervisor will oversee worker transportation, maintain cleanliness of housing and vehicles (including monitoring fluids), and ensure proper placement of portable toilets. They will also track time clocks and breaks, document injuries, monitor equipment needs, and maintain accurate record books in compliance with food safety requirements. The employer reserves the right to pay a higher hourly rate and/or bonuses to workers performing this job duty at its sole discretion.

Special Requirements:
Two (2) months of verifiable experience as a bus driver and crew lead required. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Employer reserves the right to conduct employer-paid upon suspicion and/or post-accident drug testing. Any employee who declines to take or fails a drug test will be immediately terminated. Employees will be on a three warning termination notice discipline process. First offense will be verbal, second offense will be written and third offense will result in termination.
