Job Duties:
Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Ensure water access during freezing temperatures. Clear snow, ice, and mud from roads used to access cattle and feed alleys in feedlot. Herd livestock to scales and trucks for shipping. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations under supervision. Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using brands and tags. Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals. Segregate animals according to weight, age, color, and physical condition. Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences. Clean equipment, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions. Order food for animals and arrange for its delivery. Patrol grazing lands on horseback or using all-terrain vehicles. Maintain growth, feeding, production, and cost records. Groom, clip, trim, or castrate animals. Spray livestock with insecticides for winter lice. Spread bedding for livestock during inclement winter weather. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday. Employer will abide by all of Colorado's agricultural laws to include Senate Bill 21-087 ("SB87") and any subsequent Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards Orders (COMPS order) . Effective 1/1/25, overtime must be paid after 48 hours worked per week, or 56 hours worked per week for up to 22 "peak weeks" for highly seasonal employers."

Special Requirements:
No experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D - Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level I - Entry Level pursuant to the interim final rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level I - Entry Level, indicating that the job requires limited experience and routine supervision consistent with entry-level duties. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
