Job Duties:

Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Clean livestock barns, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Moving cattle to winter barns from summer grazing fields. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics such as weight gain. Groom, clip, trim, or castrate animals, dock ears and tails. Provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations, or arrange for veterinarians to provide more extensive treatment. Spray livestock with disinfectants and insecticides and dip/bathe animals. Mark livestock to identify grade, using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos. Maintain growth, feeding, production, and cost records. Maintaining water tanks, breaking up frozen tanks caused by freezing temperatures. Maintaining feeding equipment and feed distribution inside winter pastures. Order feed and arrange for its delivery. Move cattle out of winter barns at the end of season. Drive pick-up truck to town for cattle supplies on occasion. Farming with: Cattle (No CDL or Commercial Driving Required)

Special Requirements:

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
