- Workers will work from October 1, 2021 to April 1, 2022 on large oyster boats catching thousands of oysters in various parts of waters were oysters are located using dredge nets, workers will assist in the dropping of the dredge nets from boats into into waters and passing dredge nets scraping the bottom surface, where oysters are easily scooped up by the dredge nets for the catching and at the end of the run dredge nets, are then lifted onto boat decks filled with thousands of oysters and gently placed on boat deck, workers will separate the live oysters from the dead shells and other debris, and the process is repeated until sufficient amount of oysters are caught, separated, cleaned, bagged, weighed, labeled and brought to port, ready for pick-up and brought to processing plant. No experience or education required; must undergo drug screening and random drug screening at employers expense; 7 hours, Monday through Friday and 5 hours on Saturdays; 40 hours per week, paid weekly; all deductions from the workers paycheck required by law will be made; tools, equipment, supplies to perform assigned duties will be provided to workers by employer at no cost. The anticipated employment will last 120 days or more. Employer guarantees to offer work for a total number of hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12 week period of the total employment period. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). Transportation for H-2B Visa workers and non-commuting United States Domestic Workers including meals and lodging to the extent necessary, to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided, if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed earlier by the employer. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier , the employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a workers voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $12.68 p/day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 p/day with receipts. Workers will work on a rotating schedule Monday to Friday 7 hours (6:00AM to 1:00PM or 1:00PM to 7:00PM) and Saturday 5 hours (6:00AM to 11:00AM or 11:00AM to 4:00PM). Public transportation is available to job site located at 7311 Grand Caillou Road, Dulac Louisiana 70353 in Terrebonne County. All deductions from workers paycheck required by law will be made. Employer will have lodging available with fully equipped kitchen to prepare daily meals. Accommodations are available for a fee of $65.00 per month or $16.25 per week including utilities. If worker chooses to accept lodging offered by employer a fee of $65.00 per month or $16.25 per week will be deducted from workers paycheck. Workers who choose not to live at lodging provided by employer and prefer to live elsewhere, the $65.00 per month or $16.25 per week lodging fee will not be deducted from workers paycheck. This job order will participate in the H2B program. Applicants must be minimum 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
