Job Duties:
You will serve as the primary caregiver for both children, at home and before and after school, and on weekends, evenings and during school vacations, for up to 40 hours per week of on-duty time. You will live in the household with both working parents (who each work from home at least part of the time) and participate in family life. Specifically, you will help prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals and snacks for children; remove hazards and develop appropriate boundaries and rules to create a safe environment for the children; instruct and assist children in the development of health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet behavior; instruct children in safe behavior, such as seeking adult assistance when crossing the street and avoiding contact with unsafe objects; teach and perform age-appropriate activities, such as lap play, reading, and arts and crafts, to encourage intellectual development of children; bathe and change diaper for the infant, and help the older girl with shower and bathroom routine; observe children's behavior for irregularities, take temperature, transport children to doctor, or administer medications, as directed, to maintain children's health; regulate children's rest periods and nap schedules; confer regularly with parents to discuss children's activities and development, organize and supervise age-appropriate recreational activities, such as games, arts and crafts, sports, walks, and play dates; transport children to schools, social outings, and medical appointments; work with parents to develop and implement discipline programs to promote desirable child behavior; assign appropriate chores and praise targeted behaviors to encourage development of self-control, self-confidence, and responsibility; supervise and assist with homework; help develop or monitor family schedule; perform housekeeping and cleaning duties related to children's care.

Must have a high school diploma or higher degree and at least one year nanny experience, including experience caring for more than one child age 5 and younger (not yet school-age) at the same time and newborn care experience, and be able to provide 2 references for prior nanny experience; be at least 21 years old; be female to provide intimate care for young girls; willing to commit to one full year; able to speak clear English; be able to pass background check and drug test; be a non-smoker and not addicted to alcohol or any other substance; be a competent driver with active drivers license and have experience driving in winter conditions, a clean driving record is required; be friendly, outgoing, and have excellent communication skills; and have flexibility to travel with family as needed. Must be First Aid and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certified, and have proof of COVID vaccination. The work hours are in fact 2 shifts on a working day. The employee will start at 8:30 am, and finish first shift at 10:30 am when the kids take their naps. The second shift then starts at 1:30 pm, and finishes at7:30pm. It will be 8 hours for a working day, and 5 working days a week, 40 hours in total per week which includes Monday through Friday. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. The Nanny will be reimbursed for transportation and subsistence from her location to the place of employment in Westport, Connecticut once the Nanny completes 50% of the period of employment as stated in this job description and the employer will pay for the Nannys cost of return transportation and daily subsistence from the place of employment (Westport, Connecticut) to the place from which the Nanny, disregarding intervening employment, departed to work for the employer, if the Nanny completes the certified period of employment or is dismissed from employment for any reason by the employer before the end of the period. Daily subsistence will be at least $14.00 per day during travel to a maximum of $595.00 per day, with receipts. The employer will reimburse the Nanny in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the Nanny. The employer will also provide to the Nanny, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned.
