- Atchafalaya Crawfish Processing, LLC. is fill crawfish positions worksite in Iberville parish. Temp, FT, seasonal, position to fill 20 job openings from February 12, 2024 - July 15, 2024. Duties: Under direct supervision job duties may include any/or all of the following: Bag, bait, (chop or prepare), box/case, clean, cleanup worksite and sanitize, conveyor belt/steamroom (place and/or dump crawfish to remove crawfish from steamer belt), count, cut dehead, dock work, dump containers and/or sacks, examine product to meet specifications, extract meat from carcass or shell (using hands, hand tools or knives), fill baskets, boxes, sacks, tables, and troughs, freeze (place raw packaged product in freezer to freeze crawfish meat) , grade, handle, ice pack, inspect for defects/remove/discard defective and/or waste products, label, lift/carry, load/unload products and/or bait or supplies from docks, racks, trucks, etc). Move, obtain/distribute pack/package (place or pour into bags, containers, sacks, etc), pallet, peel (removing shell), pick or remove trash/foreign matter, pregrade, prepare, process, purge, ready for market, refrigerate or freeze immediately (place product into the freezer according to LA Dept of Health regulations timeline for food safety), repackage (to change packaging/adjust package size (example move product from one 5 lb package to five 1 lb package sized as requested by customer), rinse, seal, separate/sort, shrink wrap, transport product to vehicles, vacuum pack machine, wash, washing machine/or other equipment required, and weigh. And any other activities as related to crawfish processing. Req: Manual dexterity of hands for shelling and peeling/extensive sitting and/or standing. Must have 2 weeks (no months) seafood exp. After 3 days must be able to peel 5.94 lbs or more per hr. Employer may require drug screen; post hire, employer pd. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination. Must not be allergic to product and/or environment. Terms and conditions of employment: $16.33 hr M-F, some Sat/Sun, 6a-3p, unpaid lunch break, 40 hour wk, ot may be available and pd @ $24.50 which is the OT hr rate (after 40 hrs wkly). OT, offered hrs, and schedule may all vary. Employee may be paid per lb @ employer discretion, which at all times meet/or exceed ETA 9142 certified hrly wage. Employee may earn more though piece rate work. Unpaid breaks available in 30 min increments at employee discretion. No on the job training. No education req. Employees may be compensated above the DOL approved wage rate, this decision to pay above the DOL certified wage rate will be made by the employer basing this decision on factors that include the individual recipient's performance and work history. Transp (including meals and if necessary lodging) to the place of employment will be provided or its cost to the workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transp and daily subsistence will be provided if worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. The amount of transp payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable form of common carrier for the distance involved. Daily sub will be provided at rate of $15.46 per day during travel to a max of $59 per day with receipts. Employer will not provide daily transp to the worksite. Employer will reimburse the H2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other/related fees including those mandated by the gov incurred by the H2B worker (excluding passport expenses and other charges primarily for the benefit of worker). Tools, equipment & supplies: The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equip required to perform assigned duties.
