- Provincetown LSOM EMP LLC dba Provincetown Inn seeks Restaurant Servers, 4 openings, Temporary full-time positions from 4/1/24 to 10/31/24 in Provincetown, MA. Restaurant Servers: Sell and serve food and beverage, to restaurant patrons. Duties and responsibilities include: Present menu to patrons, answer questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service, takes order, relay order to kitchen and serve courses from kitchen and service bars. Garnish and decorate dishes prior to serving, observe diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed. Totals bill, presents to guest and accepts payment; tenders proper change to guests using responsible cash handling procedures and POS system. Cleans, organizes and maintains assigned stations and all services areas prior to, during and after meal time rush. Apply knowledge of full menu, bar and other information such as restaurant hours, table numbers and payment options. Use suggestive selling techniques to offer food specials, menu items, daily desserts and other promotions. Turns in all cash and charge transactions at the end of each shift. Understand and comply with health/sanitation and alcohol standards and communicate all concerns to management including issues with health, sanitation, staff, inventory and guests. Assists team members as needed. Completes all assigned opening and closing side work to prepare dining room, kitchen and service stations for efficient operation during meal periods. Must be able to lift and move 40 lbs. No experience necessary, will train. Employer will guarantee minimum H-2B wage rate of $18.95 per hour worked. Overtime hours may be available at a rate of $28.43 per hour. The wages will consist of Massachusetts min. wage, tips and additional employer pay as needed. Generally, min. of 35 hours per week, on average 7 hours per workday and 5 workdays per week. Weekends and holidays required. Various shifts available but normally 6am-1pm, 2pm-10pm, 10am-6pm or 11am-7pm daily. Conditions of employment for H2B and U.S. workers: 1. Initial transportation to begin the seasonal/peak employment (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence will be at least $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. 2. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. 3. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. 4. The employer will use a single work week for computing wages starting each Friday at 12:00 am and ending Thursday 11:59 pm and the employee will be paid weekly. 5. H-2B workers will be reimbursed during the first workweek for subsistence, visa, visa processing and related costs, except passport costs, by company check. 6. Optional, voluntary dormitory style housing available, first come first served while available, at a cost of $150 per week (not deducted from payroll). 7. Employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law.
