Job Duties:
Ocean Edge Resort LLC dba Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club seeks Sous Chefs, 5 openings, Temporary full-time positions from 4/1/25 to 11/15/25 in Brewster, MA. Sous Chefs: responsible for preparation, assembly, and final presentation of ingredients according to the company's recipes and specifications and ensuring the quality of cooked/prepared food while utilizing a large range of kitchen skills including slicing, grinding, frying, and baking during food service. The Sous Chefs works directly for the Chef de Cuisine and will assist: prepare requisitions for supplies and food items; detection and disposal of unattractive and spoiled foods; promote workplace safety, food safety, and customer safety; draft working schedules; train subordinate staff (cooks and interns); maintain order and discipline in the kitchen; create tasting menus and customized menus for functions; develop cross-marketing strategy; ensure equipment is in good condition; ensure food assembly line is prepared; and ensure accurate assembly of dishes to be served in a timely manner, as ordered, during all meal services. Must be able to lift and carry food and kitchen supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. Minimum of 1 year of experience as Sous-chef required. Workers will be paid no less than $20.97 per hour. Overtime hours may be available at a rate of $31.46 per hour. Generally: min. of 35 hours per week, on average 7 hours per workday and 5 workdays per week. Weekends and holidays required. Various shifts available but normally 6am-2pm, 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 2pm-10pm, or 3pm-11pm daily. Conditions of employment for H2B and U.S. workers: 1. Initial transportation to begin the seasonal/peak employment (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence will be at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. 2. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. 3. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. 4. The employer will use a single work week for computing wages starting each Sunday at 12:00am and ending Saturday at 11:59pm and the employee will be paid biweekly. 5. H-2B workers will be reimbursed during the first workweek for subsistence, visa, visa processing and related costs, except passport costs, by company check. 6. Optional, limited, housing options available, first come first served while available, for a fee ranging $500 to $700 per month (not deducted from payroll). 7. The employer will make deductions from worker's paycheck required by law. 8. Employees with more experience, or returning employees, may be offered a higher wage rate. 9. As a condition of employment, the employee H2B and U.S. workers must submit to and successfully pass a pre-hire saliva drug screen. The cost of which will be paid for by the employer. 10.
