Job Duties:
Provide childcare for one child in the Head of Household’s private household. Childcare duties include: preparing nutritionally balanced meals and snacks using groceries purchased by the Head of Household; developing and monitoring family schedule; instruct and assist child in development of health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet behavior; instruct child in safe behavior, such as seeking adult assistance when crossing the street and avoiding contact with unsafe objects; assign appropriate chores and praise targeted behaviors to encourage development of self-control, self-confidence, and responsibility; meet regularly with parents to discuss child’s activities and development; observe child’s behavior for irregularities, taking temperature or administering medications as directed to maintain child’s health; organize and conduct age-appropriate recreational activities such as games, arts and crafts, sports, walks, and play dates; perform housekeeping and cleaning duties related to child’s care; regulate child’s rest periods and nap schedule; remove hazards and develop appropriate boundaries and rules to create a safe environment for children; supervise and assist with homework; teach and perform age-appropriate activities, such as lap play, reading, and arts and crafts, to encourage the child’s intellectual development; work with Head of Household to develop and implement discipline programs to promote desirable child behavior; discuss child behavior with parents; monitor environment to ensure safety; teach daily living skills or behaviors; teach health and hygiene practices. Perform cleaning of all interior rooms, hallways, and staircases of the household, including countertops, floors, carpets, furniture, showers, and toilets. Empty trash and recycling receptacles. Launder clothes for all household members utilizing the household's washing and drying machines. Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers. Disinfect equipment and supplies. Dust and polish furniture and equipment. Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas. Hang draperies and dust window blinds. Keep storage areas well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses. Polish silver accessories and metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings. Prepare rooms for social functions and arrange decorations and furniture for social functions. Request repair services and wait for repair workers to arrive. Sort clean linens and store them in linen closets. Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary. Work schedule is as follows: Mon., Tues., Thurs., Sat, Sun.: 6:30am to 9:30am; 5:30pm to 8:30pm Fri.: 6:30am to 9:30am; 5:30pm to 7:30pm A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. All deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law will be made. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. The H-2B worker will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are $16.28/day without receipts or up to $68/day with receipts.
