Job Duties:
Job Duties of a food preparer: Shrimp Packers work in processing plant located at 306 Jon Floyd Road, Delcambre, Louisiana 70528 which is the only location for Gulf Crown Seafood. Job duties of a shrimp packer are to clean shrimp, using their hands, disposing of any foreign matter, such as leg, head-meat and or shrimp vein that may be attached after going through peeling machines. Weigh shrimp, using automated scales according to customer instructions, examples are 5# block or 5#,2# 1# IQF bag, placing bags with raw fresh product on racks for freezing. Shrimp Packers do not operate nor do they maintain or repair any machines and or electric appliances. Shrimp to be boxed after frozen for shipping per customer instructions in customer supplied pre-labeled packaging, examples are 50#, 30# or 20# masters. Heading of shrimp occasionally which means removing the head of the shrimp from the tail for sizing. Sanitation of packing tables, employee aprons, shrimp sizing tags and colanders with antibacterial dish washing liquid and plastic hand held scrub brush to be done at the end of each work day.

Fa 11 Special Requirements: 1. Employer may require post hire, random drug screen, upon suspicion or post-accident, employer paid, post hire. 2. Must have one week seafood experience 3. Overtime offered, hours and schedule may vary 4. Employer will make payroll deductions as required by law, and deducted from the worker paychecks. 5. Potential local housing for rent if workers desire. No more than $40 per week, per person will be charged to workers for housing and basic utilities. 6. No on the job training. 7. No education requirement. 8. Unpaid breaks available in 30 minute increments at employee discretion. 9. M-F most sat some Sun. 10. 5a-5p 11. Must not be allergic to shrimp 12. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workweek runs Thurs-Wed with payroll distributed at 2p on Thursday. 13. Transportation (including meals and to the extent necessary lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed. If the worker completes half the employment period. 14. Employer will reimburse the h2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa process, border crossing and other related fees including those mandated by the government incurred by the H2B worker (excluding passport and other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker).
