Job Duties:

Assist production line workers in the scoring, moving, and tempering of glass and the assembling insulated window units. Perform duties in the following work areas: glass production, glass cutting and tempering and insulating glass mezzanine. Insulating Glass Production Work with IG glass components on IG production line including removing and preparing them for shipment. Check and run equipment including calibration and detector checks. Perform duties using grinder, washer, and PMX lift. Prepare racks into position by pushing or using a pallet jack or forklift and verifying glass is fit for intended use. Get the finished product ready for shipment. Reject nonconforming lites by removing part and follow procedures to initiate remake requests when needed. Reset equipment and systems to maintain proper sequence. Insulating Glass Cutting & Tempering Handle raw, cut glass (within tolerance and specification) to the tempering furnace, IG lines, or shipping in a timely manner; seam (sand edges), stamp (apply a logo in the correct location), and remove heat treated glass lites from the conveyor and place them in the correct location/slot on/in the glass rack. Handle cut glass and break out sheet in proper sequence and removing any trim when present. Review order and run schedules. Retrieve racks, push them into proper position by either pushing or using a pallet jack and label them correctly. Reject nonconforming lites by removing part and follow procedures to initiate remake requests when needed. Insulating Glass Mezzanine Operate benders, tape machine, Muntin Master and Punch Master in the IG Spacer & MDL area, including assembling bars, cleaning bars and punching channel. Set up, check, and run equipment including calibration and hourly checks, and recording of those checks. Equipment may include the extruder, Muntin Master, Punch Master, bender and tape machine. Work in different positions throughout the mezzanine and rotate daily and on as needed basis to best meet the requirements of productions. Follow standard work procedures, quality specifications, “green, yellow, red” procedures, quality control methods and relevant work instructions, safety procedures, stretching requirements and work center checklists for maintaining orderliness, cleanliness, and supplies inventory. May perform other job duties pursuant to 51-9198.00 Helpers – Production Workers. F.a.5a-F.a.6b: 35+hours/week. 8-hour shifts, offered between three work shifts: THREE SHIFTS: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. 5 days/week (Sun-Fri). May work evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours. May work overtime. OT varies and must be pre-approved. F.b.8a: Workers will be paid no less than the wage listed. Employer may pay higher wage rates to workers based on seniority with employer and level of skill. Overtime hours may vary. F.d.4: Workers have the option of Employer-provided housing for $550-575 per month, and if elected, worker will pay the landlord directly. Workers also have the option of securing their own lodging.

No formal education, training or experience required. On-the-job training will be provided. Must pass pre-employment drug test, criminal background check (which will be completed before hiring) and physical requirements screening including lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, gripping/pushing, reaching, squatting, scooping, sitting, standing, walking, and climbing. Regular and reliable attendance required. Must be able to walk, stand for periods of hours and squat to assemble units and product; use hands and arms to reach materials, run machines, assemble units, grad and lift; use fingers and hands to grasp glass, materials, tools, cleaning equipment, etc.; perform tasks which require foot and/or hand-eye coordination such as using the foot pedal to advance the conveyor, reading a breakout monitor/furnace load bed monitor, breaking out glass, operating the Punch Master or other various machines; twist at the waist to transfer glass onto conveyors, pass pieces of glass on to co-workers, reach muntin bars and/or spacer, put materials away, assemble units, etc.; reach and lift over shoulder to assemble products, put materials away, pull glass lites out of harp racks, carry bundles of channel; push objects weighing up to 50 pounds; pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds; push and pull glass pieces weighing up to 175 pounds over ball tables (glass pieces can weigh up to 280 pounds but this would be moved over an air table thereby minimizing the force needed to move); lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds (any pieces weighing over 50 pounds would be carried with two associates); hear normal sounds and voices with background noise to communicate with co-workers and supervisors and hear PA announcements and alarms; perform tasks which require steadiness of motion and balance; climb stairs; bend to the floor; bend at the knee to reach materials, clean or assist in maintenance work. Must be able to concentrate on detail with interruption with minimal errors; attend to and focus on task/function for a sustained period of time; take direction and follow instructions; understand and apply safety rules. Must be able to read, write, spell and understand English or native language; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and online procedure manuals; fill out documents and record checks online; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; read a tape measure to 16ths of an inch; carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock or vibration. Must be 18+.
