Job Duties:
Load and unload sugar beets to and from sugar beet pilers; manually assist in positioning and directing trucks and equipment at piling sites; collect sugar beet samples by placing beets into sample bags for routine testing; gather, remove, and clean scattered sugar beets and debris from the work area and piler. All duties are performed at beet receiving stations located at American Crystal Sugar factory districts. The workers will not perform any agricultural labor or services. The sugar beets handled have already been harvested and transported from farms to the processing facilities. The job duties occur at the initial stage of processing and manufacturing sugar products. Workers may perform other closely related duties consistent with SOC Code 53-7062.00, Laborers and Freight, Stock, and Material Movers, Hand. F.a.5a-F.a.6b: 35+ hours/week. 12-hour shifts between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm or 8:00 pm and 8:00 am. 7 days per week during a 10-15 working day season, Sun-Sat. May work evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours. May work overtime. OT varies. F.b.8a: Workers will be paid no less than the wage listed. Employer may pay higher wage rates to workers based on seniority with employer and level of skill. Overtime hours may vary. F.b.8a: Depending on work conditions, the employer may offer workers performing certain tasks during certain periods of the season an opportunity to earn an incentive bonus over and above the guaranteed rate of pay set forth above. If offered, such incentive bonuses will be based on the quantity and quality of work performed and offered to all workers working on the activity(ies) and during the time period(s) when such incentive bonuses are offered. If an incentive bonus is offered, the fact that the bonus is to be offered and the manner in which the bonus will be determined, will be explained to all affected workers before the start of any work period or activity subject to such a bonus. Incentive bonuses are offered at the sole discretion of the employer, and no bonus or opportunity to earn a bonus is promised or guaranteed. F.b.9: Effective January 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. F.c.1: The H-2B Temporary Sugar Beet Piler Laborers will perform job duties at 16217 70th Street NW, Georgetown, MN 56546 and at multiple worksites within the area of intended employment, including the following counties: Becker, Clay, Norman, and Polk. F.d.1: Employer will provide daily transportation from the employer-provided housing to and from worksites, or employee may report directly to the worksite on their own. F.d.4: Workers have the option of employer-provided housing at no cost. Workers also have the option of securing their own lodging.

Special Requirements:
No formal education, training or experience required. On-the-job training will be provided. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds. Employees are exposed to the outdoors, cold and hot temperatures, wind, rain, and perhaps snow. Exposure to moving equipment requires lockout procedures. There is exposure to dust and debris from harvest conditions. Personal protective equipment is required and must be worn as required and needed. Employees need to be able to be on their feet for long periods of time and be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds. Drug testing may be performed post-accident or injury or upon reasonable suspicion.
