Job Duties:
***RFI Response 3*** The statement "once the crab is received, workers will cook the product, place in coolers" consist of the following duties and tools: Steam whole crab/crawfish; Manually load steamer basket with crates of crabs/sacks of crawfish, use electric wench to load/unload steamer and transfer to table in refrigerated room for further processing. Manually remove back shell from the body of the steamed crabs and break off crab pinchers, manually place crab bodies/pinchers/crawfish in plastic crates and manually move plastic crates with crab bodies/pinchers/crawfish to designated cooler. Manually clean and sterilize work area table and equipment. The statement "Containers are then placed on ice and placed in coolers before sold to the consumer" consist of the following duties and tools: Workers will manually place individual containers of meat in boxes and cover with ice, manually move boxes to designated cooler in preparation of orders for         wholesale retail sale. ***RFI Response 2*** Once the meat has been ejected from the product (crab), it is weighted on a 10Lb scale by each employee, ejecting the meat. The ejected meat is then placed under a black light used to identify any shells in the meat. Once the shells have been removed by hand from the peeled meat, the meat is weighed again and placed in 1lb and ½ Lb containers. Containers are then placed on ice and placed in coolers before sold to the consumer. ***RFI Response*** Once the crab is received, workers will cook the product, place product in coolers, and the peeling process begins the next day. Peeling of crab and crawfish using any combination of the following tools: Crab Crackers, Seafood Shellers, Meat Extractor, and Mallets. Work will be done by wearing gloves, hair nets (as needed), on a clean, flat surface at the seafood processing plant. Once meat is ejected, the worker will assist with packaging the meat properly in preparation for distribution to local restaurants and retailers. ***Original F.a.2*** to assist with the peeling of crab and crawfish, to eject meat from outer shell. Prepare product for distribution.
