The job requires extensive standing and walking. Workers are frequently required to use their hands and arms to handle, feel, reach, climb or balance. Workers are occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl under trellis wires. Workers must be able to lift/carry up to 60 lbs throughout the course of the day. Apple Harvest: Quality is essential to the apple harvest. Many different varieties of apples will be picked according to established company procedures based on the end use (spot picking for fresh, small percentage of culls for processing). To ensure quality, workers must be able to differentiate between colors accurately in order to perform color-specific picking. Workers must also be able to carry and pick from 16-foot ladder and be able to carry up to 60 pounds. Peach Harvest: Following the supervisors instructions, the worker will prune and thin peach trees when necessary to ensure proper growth of fruit. When ripe, workers will remove fruit from the trees and place in a plastic container suspended by a harness worn by the worker. When full, worker will carry container to designated area, unhook full container, empty container gently to avoid bruising and repeat the process. Workers must take care when picking to ensure there is no damage to the fruit, such as bruising. Workers are required to pick and dump fruit without stem pulls, punctures, bruising or other damage which diminishes quality. Vegetable Harvest: The worker may also plant and/or harvest a variety of vegetables during the season. It is unknown at this time exactly what vegetables may be harvested and/or planted, however, the workers will be paid the adverse effect wage rate, the prevailing wage, or the minimum wage whichever is higher. General Farm Labor: Tasks the worker must be able to perform include:Orchard Clean-up: In addition to the above activities, workers may be required to perform miscellaneous grove clean-up work, such as repair and or replace irrigation equipment, removal of debris, and other general grove clean-up work as required. The worker will assist in cleaning orchard by clearing brush and picking up rocks up to 60lbs. Worker completes farm clean up task to include picking up garbage around orchard, removing old strings and wire from trellis and orchard blocks, and other hand task. Workers performing grove clean-up work will be paid the adverse effect wage rate, the prevailing rate, or the minimum wage rate, whichever is higher. The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. The employer will charge the worker for reasonable costs related to the worker's refusal or negligent failure to return the tools or due to such worker's willful damage or destruction of the tools.

All of the jobs associated with this employment are paid by the hour, $13.15 per hour.
